ACE'S HORROR OVER DJ GAFFE
PETER Crouch barged past a bloke and told him he was going to meet Pete Tong – not realising he was speaking to... Pete Tong.
The former footballer was by his own admission “hammered” in a nightclub and thought the DJ was an overexcited punter.
Crouchy, 43, winced: “It was in Ibiza, and someone said Pete Tong would like to meet you and he was DJing in this club.
“And I was like, ‘Aww, that’s amazing, like, we’ve come here to see him, fantastic!’
“Listen, obviously I know what he looks like now, but at that time I didn’t, it was a long time ago.
“Anyway, I’m walking past. A lot of people are going, ‘Crouchy!’ and shouting at me, I’m walking through a busy club. So someone grabbed me and I was like, ‘Get off! I’m going to meet Pete Tong!’
“And I’d said, ‘Get off! I’m going to meet Pete Tong!’ – to Pete Tong.”
The ace and his model wife Abbey Clancy had been asked on their podcast The Therapy Crouch what embarrassing encounters they had with other celebrities they wanted to meet.
Crouch added: “I was hammered as well and he was a bit frosty after that.
“Pete, if you’re listening I apologise for that.
“I don’t think he’s my mate anymore.
“It all went Pete Tong, yeah.”
